Fire Danger Period and Fire Restrictions
The Fire Danger Period for D15 and Golden Plains Shire will start at 0000Hrs Monday 24th November 2025
No burns offs in the fire danger period

If residents are planning to burn off their garden waste pile, they need to make sure they have:
- Checked the fire danger rating.
- Registered their burn off at firepermits.vic.gov.au or call 1800 668 511, failure to do so may result in your local CFA being called out for no reason
- Notified their neighbours.
- The means to immediately extinguish the fire.
- Cleared all around the burn pile and;
- Ensure that the smoke from the fire does not cause a nuisance to nearby properties.
A responsible adult must be in attendance of their burn offs at all times, and must ensure the fire is fully extinguished before leaving it unattended.

Residents are reminded that they cannot burn off offensive materials, including chemicals, rubber, plastic, petrol, oil, paint, treated timber, furniture or mattresses. To report a pile of these items ready to be burnt, please contact Council at 5220 7111 and speak with a Community Safety Officer.

A Total Fire Ban Day can be declared at anytime throughout the year.
NO fires are to be lit in the open air on Total Fire Ban Days.
